Before the lecture

I took these shots a few weeks ago backstage at the Lois Lowry lecture. The lecture happened just before WPPI--the humungous, overwhelming annual Portrait and Wedding Show I go to each year which completely wipes me out and totally invigorates me--so I didn't get to them until just a few days ago. The lecture was at Town Hall. I've never been there before but it is this gorgeous old chuch--complete with pew seating and stained glass windows. The backstage is sort of decrepit but full of charm in "old theatre which has seen better days" sort of way. Jaime was going over his introduction for Lois.

The Neighbors: Ruth

Okay, technically Ruth isn't my neighbor but because she is so close to Marcia she has become a part of our neighborhood circle. I feel a special affinity for Ruth since we share the same birthday. She has some amazing stories and I really look forward to her visits. Easter dinner was no exception!

Last Minute Wedding

What a cute couple! They hadn't settled on having photos done since the wedding was so small. but in the end it seemed like a good idea (aren't photos always...) So, we shot some quick portraits before the wedding...

Beach retreat

Some may call it a vacation but I preferred to think of our couple of days at Ocean Shores as a retreat. With my annual wedding convention coming up I used the openness to contemplate what I wanted to learn, purchase and pursue for my photography this year. We had a sweet little borrowed time share right on the beach. It was rainy and windy and perfect for long walks. It was a little sandy for my "real" camera and I'm glad I didn't chance it seeing as how my Leica bit the dust a few times...

we had to give up on getting both mid air at the same time but the progression was pretty funny...

a very typical libby self portrait. some day there will be a book--"My feet around the world"

another one down

I swear I'm a photographer and not a quilter but it is fun to have a new hobby. I had an inspiration to give the quilt I was making in my quilt class to my niece for her 5 year birthday. Which meant about 50 hours of hustle, a few photos and then a tearful farewell. I've heard it went over well...it's already being dragged around for cartoon watching!
