I love getting notes that so perfectly describe why I love my job and what I hope to give people!

"delighted and thrilled with your pictures of my family..love my album and have ordered more...it was a wonderfuly present and you captured the smiles and love of my family. Thanks, Judy"

Laney's Birthday Party

I've been really wanting to photograph a birthday party...it seems like the ultimate in good summer fun. We tried last year but I was already booked so I was over the moon when Laney's mom asked if I was available to photograph her 2nd Birthday. Little miss sparkly was so delighted and excited about everything!

And to top it all off, her mom sent me the loveliest note when she saw the photos!

"Libby, I hope that you are doing well. I just wanted to write to let you know how much we LOVE the birthday photos. That little girl is our miracle baby and has transformed our lives in so many ways. Thank you for helping us to record this milestone. We look forward to including you in our future life celebrations.

Thanks again for everything... Your spirit and heart definitely come through in your work. :-) "

I heart Della and Co.

I secretly love Della and her family but I guess putting it on my blog makes it not so secret. I am, of course, often drawn to hyperbole but when I go over there I wander around in a daze of joy and envy. I love it when every aspect of peoples lives in filled with purpose and creativity. I think Della might need to be officially named queen sparkle pants.

I call the first one "river dance with garden gloves..."

Does her mom look familiar. Shes the amazingly talented, Christmas stocking maven who designed my holiday cards last year... www.ahnaholder.com !

Old Married Couple

I did Jen and Erik's wedding in 2005 and now I got to meet their beautiful baby Kaj. It's so awesome to get to see a couple settling into themselves. I was there on this hugely monumental day and now I get to revisit and reconnect. It's a wonderfully humbling experience...to be the recorder of memories.

Plus, they made an insanely cute kid!

New Orleans all the way...

Libby, where oh where have you been....I spent the nicest 4th of July in New Orleans with my dad and my brothers. I was looking forward to it but as the baby with 3 big brothers I'm often bear the brunt of their "jokes". Let's just say it went really, really well. There's not that much that can go wrong with laying by the pool, eating yummy food and having the occasional drink (yeah, right). It was so much fun. Plus, instead of my point and shoot, which I mostly love, I stuffed my big canon 5d with a short little 50mm 1.8 lens on it into my bag (literally). It was the best decision. We just passed it around and went to town. I have 250 of the best photos of my family from my 2 day trip!

A sort of loose rendition of the Reservoir Dogs...this one turned out better than the ill fated Beatles rendition which I won't share on principle...

It's like my dad is the "Saint of Drinking" and Lee is the saint of...oh, never mind...

they said I had to try a hurricane. but they didn't put any alcohol in mine..at least none I could taste...

pretty much sums up the trip right here!
