Even though I came from a relatively big family (4 kids) there's something a little daunting about a family with 6 kids! You never can predict how things will go. And then sometimes it's just sparkly and magical. Which is how it was this beautiful morning at Kubota Gardens with the 6 Muilenberg kids--sparkly and magical. A little sass, a little tickling and a lot of laughing!

okay, so I have to ask. Is the baby a boy or a girl?!
It's so easy to look at photos of another family and convince myself that they are somehow managing better than we are. Surely their kids don't fight the way mine do, and look! The children appear to have even been recently bathed! When looking at your beautiful family photos I have to remind myself of this family that we met last summer during swim lessons. I think they had four girls, and at the time we had three (with none on the horizon). This family looked so wholesome and organized and perfect on the outside and I felt totally intimidated by the mother. Then one day the middle daughter showed up for lessons with a huge gaping hole in her mouth where her two front teeth used to be. Turns out the oldest daughter had clocked her and knocked 'em right out. It may be sick on my part, but this story comforts me...
I'm sure nothing like that would ever happen in the Muilenberg family, though. : )
